By train
All international trains stop in Bolzano. Bus No. 156 takes you to Jenesien/San Genesio.The ropeway to Jenesien is closed until the new construction is completed!
For information about connections to Germany, please visit the British railway website: http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/ or https://www.thetrainline.com/en-us. After your arrival in Germany, the DB/ÖBB EuroCity trains will carry you conveniently and comfortably to Bolzano/Bozen. Trilingual staff members will attend to your needs. Tickets may be booked online or bought at train ticket offices throughout Italy.
There are special offers available on the Munich - Bolzano route; children under 15 travelling with their parents ride free!

TIP: Connecting ticket South Tyrol
On board the Eurocity trains of DB/ÖBB between Munich and Bolzano, and in the DB travel centres connecting tickets “Anschlussticket Südtirol” can be purchased for a special price of 5.00 Euro. The tickets are valid on the day of purchase; the date must be recorded on the ticket!

Luggage storage in Bolzano/Bozen

"Südtirol Transfer" – comfortably to your holiday accommodation
If you arrive by train or in South Tyrol you can use the "Südtirol Transfer”, a region-wide connection shuttle for the last few kilometres to your accommodation. You can get to your holiday accommodation from the train station in Bolzano and after your holiday you will be brought back to the stop. The group transfer from the nearest train station, as well as the individual transfers from all the transit hubs, can be booked online.

By bus
Once at the bus station in Perathonerstrasse in Bozen, you can buy the ticket for bus n.156 that takes to Jenesien. You will reach the town in about 25 minutes. Flixbus are a cost effective way to travel to Bolzano. Southtyrolbus takes you from the airports Munich, Innsbruck, Verona, Bergamo and Milan Malpesa to Bolzano. Take the Bus No. 156 to arrive at Jenesien. If you prefer the ropeway you can glide up to Jenesien.

By cableway - currently out of order!
If you have reached Bozen by public transport, until the valley cableway station Bozen/Jenesien take a taxi or bus n.12 (the bus station is in Perathonerstrasse - about 5 minutes walk from the railway station).

The cableway sets off every half an hour
from 8.30am to 12.00pm and
from 3.00pm to 6.30pm.


The cableway allows you to enjoy a wonderful panorama of the Dolomites as well.

By car
If you come from north, we suggest to take the motorway exit 'Bozen Nord' and to go on in direction Bolzano passing through the quarter called 'Rentsch'. Take the right before the valley station of the Renon cableway and follow the signs for Jenesien. After having passed S. Antonio's bridge, take a left and after other 200 meters take a right again. Now you are on the road to Jenesien. At this point you have around 15 minutes of journey through the mountains, where you can enjoy the wonderful panorama of the Dolomites.

If you come from south, take the motorway exit 'Bozen Süd' and follow the many signs that will take you to destination.

By plane
South Tyrols nearest international airports are in Innsbruck in the north and Verona in the south. The other airports Bergamo, Milan, Treviso, Venice, Salzburg and Munich are over 200 km away (or four hours by rail).

Different shuttle services guarantee the connection from the airports to the respective train stations. From there you can travel to South Tyrol with the trains of Italian Trenitalia, Deutsche Bahn DB as well as Austrian Federal Railways ÖBB. From the airports Innsbruck, Verona, Bergamo, Milan and Munich Alto Adige Bus offers a shuttle service for the onward journey to South Tyrol. This airport shuttle to South Tyrol includes a large number of stops throughout South Tyrol.
